I can hear her loud downstairs, but I know, she won’t come here Music is bumping out of her car but she won’t to take the first step She’s so proud and let’s me down Now I wear my low-key crown And all her Low Tones are gone The most worldly for me I found her with one lone kiss I know ignorance is bliss O’ she’s put a spell on me Already fixed me Fragments are put together O’ like flotsam and jetsam Beautiful ruins Make the new world up for me

Saw you in the time of day when the light was gone wiping all the dust away with a quick, light move of my hand Found and learned about your face from dusk till dawn A noble man of highest rank lost in loose dry sand Like a dead man in an evening dress Like a dead man in an evening dress I lay the elder man back it seemed as if he looked at me with dead eyes What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but looses his own soul I heard a man yelling out the question to his audience as I passed by One may lose his way, but all end at the same point Like a dead man in an evening dress Like a dead man in an evening dress Feel like a dead man in an evening dress Like a dead man in an evening dress

about

Into the wild
Christopher McCandless alias “Alexander Supertramp”
was a young adventurer or dropout. John Krakauer’s
book Into the Wild made him famous. McCandless
roamed the United States with minimal equipment.
He starved to death in a remote area of Alaska. In
July, McCandless decided to return to the village of
Healy.
The river, which he was able to cross without much
difficulty on arrival, had turned into a raging torrent
due to the summer snowmelt, making wading through
impossible. The fact that he was missing a (detailed)
map proved to be fatal. As a result, he did not know
that there was a manually operated floating ferry
across the river about 400 metres downstream.
Sean Penn filmed McCandless’ life in 2007 under the
title Into the Wild. I was very impressed by the visual
and musical aesthetics of the film. Chris could have
saved himself. But because of his consequent
(some say naive and stupid) attitude to fit in with
nature by simple means, he refrained from using
technical aids.
But what does this story have to do with my music? It
is an example of the consistent search for oneself,
for one’s own identity. Artists in particular possess a
high degree of sensitivity and fragility. They see beauty
where others are blind. They are courageous to follow
their dreams where many are too cowardly.
They feel themselves where others lack any feeling for
themselves and the environment.
The search for truth is important in all areas of life.
And it is important to accept that you have to take
responsibility for the consequences of your own
actions, be they good or bad.
